SUMMARY
Total strip-out of the former Presto Supermarket on George Hudson Street and removal of all façade masonry to the two main high street elevations. Complete cleansing of all reinforced concrete upstands and walls along with treatment of all exposed reinforcing with “Ferroguard 903” to prevent further corrosion . Captive shot blasting of all car park areas prior to recoating with Sika Epoxy Coatings, coloured to demarcate lanes and parking bays, and completed with the application of non-slip aggregates. All high street elevations received terracotta rainscreen cladding and curtain walling to the frontage of the proposed new retail units. New lighting system installed throughout the car park with floodlighting to upper deck. The passenger lifts and stairwells were completely refurbished and a new fire alarm and dry risers installed to fire officers exacting requirements. Fume extraction provided to the basement car park along with upgraded power supply and new sub station. Completion achieved in 40 weeks.
